Paul Nathanail provided the following update on behalf of the Bramcote Neighbourhood Forum at last Monday’s Community Action Team (CAT) meeting:
1. The Steering Group have asked the Council how to amend areas for which the neighbourhood plan is requesting local green space status.
2. The Forum’s opposition to proposals for a BESS in green belt has been reiterated to both the planning inspector for the appeal against refusal and to Broxtowe Borough Council for the new application on the same land.
3. The Forum congratulated the Chetwynd Forum on a successful referendum and their neighbourhood plan being adopted.
4. We agreed to disagree with the Chetwynd forum on the proposed new road on to A52.
5. Paul Nathanail has engaged at national and regional level in various events relating to renewable energy: Battery storage conference – Hydrogen storage in East Midlands – fusion.
6. The Forum will hold its AGM on 30 September 2024 – details will be sent to members nearer the time.
7. Paul thanks the members of the steering group for their hard work and support.

Afternoon. I notice on my way up Thoresby Road that a new planning application has been made for the old golf course. I think it talks about depositing the land and is dated 10th June. What does this mean?

Apologies Jeremy – just seen this and forwarded to Paul.

Paul replied directly to Jeremy that the application is to prevent anyone trying to claim a public right of way across the golf course to make it “white space” in planning terms.
