The full proposals for the new Bramcote Leisure Centre have now been officially published via the Broxtowe planning portal:
25/00006/REG3|Construct new Leisure Centre on existing car park, along with new temporary car park, and demolition of the existing leisure centre to form new permanent car park.
We are delighted that the popular Leisure Centre will remain in Bramcote however there are details that could be improved.
The Bramcote Neighbourhood Forum will be holding a Zoom meeting on 24 February to give members the opportunity to discuss the application; following which we will submit the Forum’s response ahead of the 7 March deadline.

Will the BNF discuss the oversight of the depth of the pool not being deep enough for diving or having seating for the clubs and gala events please?

Yes – we will discuss this. Please join our forum and meeting to share your thoughts.

I also share the concern that this pool is not deep enough for diving. The 4M depth of the existing pool is a major appeal – for diving clubs, but also for families and the fun swimming sessions in summer where children will spend literally hours jumping in and climbing out. A shallower pool also creates greater resistance when swimming in lanes and slows swimmers down.

Do you have news when the demolition begins? It is still possible to visit the old swimming centre now?

The existing Bramcote Leisure centre will remain open until the new ones opens as the new centre is being built on the current carpark. Councillor Steve Carr is the best person to ask about this development. stevejcarr@hotmail.com or via Facebook.
